FREMONT 215 SCHOOLS CLOSED (3/5/24). Due to road closures and more snow and wind in the immediate forecast, ALL Fremont County School District #215 schools will be closed today (Tuesday, March 5).

Thursday of Last week was busy for the 7 & 8th grade. The girls were invited to BYUI to learn about careers for "Women in STEAM". This is a program that helps inspire careers in STEAM-related professions. The boys stayed at the school and learned about hydraulics by building "Battle bots". They also learned about the Civil Air Patrol and how to become a pilot. They trained on a flight simulator as well. We want to thank BYUI, Chris Clarke (Chief Pilot), and Gregg Losinski from INL for a great day.

On February 22, the 7th and 8th graders will be participating in STEAM activities. The girls will be traveling to BYU-I for presentations and activities specifically for girls interested in STEAM professions. The boys will be hearing from Gregg Losinski (INL) and Chris Clarke (Civil Air Patrol) at the junior high. The intent is to promote STEAM professions and encourage these careers to our students.
Girls need to have a permission slip signed and returned by Thursday, February 15th in order to travel on the bus to BYU-I for the activities. We will need to know if any girls will need a sack school lunch, so be sure to be looking for the following forms coming home with 7th and 8th-grade girls that need to be signed and returned to their science teacher.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Kimmel, Mrs. Goulding, Mrs. Braach-Hart, or Mrs. Cicierski at the Jr. High. We look forward to providing this opportunity for our students!

These 8 students were selected to represent our school in the BYU Idaho Honor Band. They spent the day learning 5 different songs that the performed in the Barrus Concert Hall. It was a fun way to learn music from one of the areas top music educators and collaborate with many area schools and musicians.
